Sunday, October 21: Boulder City, NV to Kingman, AZ

First full day. Pretty full day it turned out to be, too!  Woke up at 5:20am. Not even sunrise yet. Sheesh. But it’s okay, it’s okay, it’s really 8:20 Michigan time, we conked out last night at  9:30, which is really 12:30 Michigan time, so, actually, I did get just under 8 hours of sleep. That’s good! So, now, what do I do at 5:20 a.m.?  Well, as it turns out, if you’re in Nevada, at a casino hotel, anything you want to.*   Go down to the lobby of the hotel and there’s no way you can tell anyway what time of day or night it is.  It’s always permanently twilight with that weirdly backlit evening sky painted on the high ceiling overhead,  and the bright neon flashing of the slot machine lights in the dimness below. Lots of walking to the Venetian (because one of Dad’s coworkers said it was really interesting) which kept not getting closer as we tried to navigate through the canyons of the Vegas streets. So much smoke. When we finally got there it was kind of interesting, in a hoky, kitchy way. Not sure it was worth all that walking, though. I saw the Bellagio fountains! That’s the first thing I get to cross off my list.  πŸŽ‰πŸŽˆπŸŽ‰πŸŽΆπŸ†πŸŽŠπŸ˜‚         They play a different one every half hour, and each one ...
